Metallic Dust over Soft Clear Wax

Tip:

Using any dusting powder is pretty messy. If using the Metallic Dust over a wax, make sure to apply in a area that can easily be cleaned.

Old Town Paints offers our Metallic Dusts pre-mixed with our Soft Clear Wax for your ease.

Step 1.

Apply Old Town Paints Soft Clear Wax with a brush or cloth to your project.

Step 2.

When the wax is no longer wet, but is still tacky, sprinkle a generous amount of Metallic Dust across the surface.

Step 3.

Allow to dry for 30 minutes.

Step 4.

Lightly brush off the excess and buff the piece.

Step 4.

Apply with a brush onto your painted surface.

To add even more sparkle, add a second coat.

No need to seal....by adding the metallic with the Clear Finish, your covered!

Step 3.

Mix the two together thoroughly.

Step 1.

Pour desired amount of Old Town Paints Clear Matte, Satin or Gloss Finish into a mixing container.

Step 2.

Scoop out desired amount of Old Town Paints Metallic Dust and add it to the Clear Finish that is already in the mixing container.

The amounts used will vary depending on how vibrant you would like your metallic to be. We recommend 2 parts Metallic Dust to 1 part Clear Finish.
